What is CDC's mission?
Community Defense Counsel exists to provide direct
legal assistance and educational resources to
those concerned about health and crime issues
affecting children and their neighborhoods, particularly
the sexual violence empirically proven to accompany
sexually oriented businesses and illegal pornography,
including child pornography.
Our mission statement advances:
- Our objective - to significantly reduce sexually
violent crime and the health risks to women
and children that flow from such violence.
- Our focus - the nationwide development of
community-based ordinances that, within the
Constitution, combat the negative secondary
effects of sexually oriented businesses.
- Our strategy - to empower those concerned
with the above matters with legal assistance
and educational resources.
To accomplish this mission we will provide:
- Legal representation in defense of the community's
rights.
- Online legal resources to assist attorneys
and city officials.
- Amicus briefs for key cases and expert testimony
before legislative bodies.
