Section
Created in 1987, the mission of the
Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS)
is to protect the welfare of America’s children
and communities by enforcing federal criminal
statutes relating to the exploitation of children
and obscenity.

This guide was prepared from actual
investigations involving child victims, as well
as investigations where law enforcement officers
posed as children.
Organizations
The
Family Online Safety Institute
The Family Online Safety Institute works to make
the online world safer for kids and their families
by identifying and promoting best practice,
tools and methods in the field of online safety,
that also respect free expression.
Morality in Media
A national, not-for-profit organization established
in 1962 to combat obscenity and uphold decency
standards in the media. It maintains the National
Obscenity Law Center, a clearinghouse of legal
materials on obscenity law, and conducts public
information programs to educate and involve
concerned citizens.
Enough Is Enough
Enough Is Enough (EIE), a non-partisan, 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization leading the effort to
confront online pornography, child pornography,
child stalking and sexual predation with innovative
initiatives and effective communications.

Childnet International
Childnet International is a registered charity
set up in 1995 with the mission to work in partnership

make the Internet a great and safe place for

The vision of the organisation is to ensure
that all those involved in developing, producing,
controlling, using and regulating international
telecommunications (current and future), recognise
and implement policies and programmes which
prioritise the rights of children so that their
interests are both promoted and protected.

Television Council
The PTC's primary mission is to promote and
restore responsibility and decency to the entertainment
industry in answer to America's demand for positive,
family-oriented television programming. The
PTC does this by fostering changes in TV programming
to make the early hours of prime time family-friendly
and suitable for viewers of all ages.

Kidzui
KidZui is a browser and online service that lets
kids aged 3 to 12 explore more than 500,000

reviewed by KidZui's paid team of parent and
teacher editors according to strict editorial
guidelines.
Surf Safely
The purpose of this directory is to create
a market driven incentive for web developers
to voluntarily rate their own content using
PICS labels (Platform for Internet Content Selection),
and families a single point of reference to
find labeled sites allowing them to use PICS
filters effectively.

an accountability system. All the websites visited
by the Member are scored specifically for objectionable
or mature (pornographic) content and the high
scoring sites are presented in an easy-to-read
Accountability Report. The Accountability Report
is then sent periodically to the Accountability
Partner(s). Depending on the content of the Accountability
Report, the Accountability Partner(s) may (or
may not) decide to discuss the report with the
Member.
